Vegan Stocking Stuffer Ideas

You look outside, and the leaves are starting to change. A few are even beginning to flutter lazily to the ground, coming to rest gently in your yard. You know what that means don’t you? It’s time for the tumultuous, knock-down melee that is the holiday shopping season to begin once more.

It’s go time! But what can you sneak into that little sock over the fireplace that will delight both vegans and non-vegansalike?

Sit back and grab some vegan hot cocoa because we are going to make sure you nail your Christmas stockings this year.

The Christmas Is In The Details

You were ready this year. All the quickly jotted gift ideas are now stocked in your closet stocked just waiting to be wrapped. A new power drill for your dad, respective play toys for the dog, and a gorgeous new sweater for your sister. Check, check, and check.

You clap the dust off your hands, survey a job well done, and have a horrible realization. You forgot about the stockings!

Don’t panic. You have plenty of options to give something personal in a stocking that makes the recipient feel loved. But it’s also about having delicious treats like chocolate—because chocolate is the best, and what’s the holiday season without some sweets?

Vegan Stocking Classics

There is no shame in taking the safe option when it comes to stocking stuffers. Maybe you know someone who prefers practical gifts; maybe they are allergic to chocolate, or they just don’t like it.

That’s okay! If gifts were a one-size-fits-all kind of thing, Christmas would be astoundingly dull. Here are a few all-around decent options to consider:

Handwritten Cards

Sure, it’s not the 1800s anymore, but sincerity and affection don’t go out of style. If you love someone, the simplest way to let them know is to just tell them.

A nice handwritten card may seem simple, but it’s something that person can keep as a reminder of your feelings, and sometimes that’s even better than a whole box of chocolates (or the perfect accompaniment to a box of chocolates—either way).

Vegan Fragrances

Look for companies that use natural, vegan ingredients, and have environmentally sustainable and cruelty-free practices. Finding a perfume or cologne for someone you love is a truly personal gift. Because everyone likes to smell good... Except for some boys in their early teens.

Gift Cards

It doesn’t get much safer than a gift card. If you aren’t a vegan yourself and are at a loss for what to get the vegan eater in your life, they probably know what they want better than you do.

Choose a gift card specifically for a brand they like or go for the ever-versatile prepaid Visa. It’s a great option for a coworker or that niece or nephew you don’t communicate with regularly. Go start up a conversation with them, and in the meantime, that gift card will have your back.

The Goods

Now that we’ve talked about some of those good all-rounders, it’s time to get a little adventurous.

Well, if your idea of adventure is helpful, delicious vegan products, that is. These are gifts for everyone, from the veteran vegans who think they’ve seen it all to your friend that “sorta knows someone who is vegan” and everyone in between.

Plants and Seeds

You know what else fits in a stocking? Seeds that will grow into plants and, as you may have heard, vegans tend to be big fans of all things leafy and green.

Obviously, there are factors to consider, such as winter not being the ideal time for many plants. Still, there are a number of indoor plants, both consumable and decorative, that can be grown indoors during the winter.

Succulents are fun, low-maintenance gifts that are pretty darn hard to kill. Some plant options, air plants, could even fit in a stocking.

Vegan Recipes

It doesn’t even have to be a whole cookbook; just scribble your faves on some note cards and clip them together.

You may be thinking, “but what if my non-vegan friends don’t want vegan recipes?” Well, that’s an easy fix! Find good recipes. If you are really worried about the reception, try them out for yourself beforehand.

There are also plenty of places to find delicious vegan recipes online. Here at MiiRO, for example, has a number of mouth-watering recipes in our magazine and on MiiRO TV that will have your friends begging for more.

Vegan Makeup or Skincare

There are tons of brands out there that make vegan (and often cruelty-free) makeup and skincare products their priority, and a stocking is the perfect place to try out a sample size! Whether you choose to stock up on vegan lipsticks or you stick to serums and moisturizers, any recipient will appreciate the opportunity for a little self-care.

If you’re looking to include multiple items, consider putting together a vegan bath set full of bath bombs, bubble bath, lotion, and more.

Reusable Tote Bags

Whether you’re hitting the grocery store or heading out for a day at the farmer’s market, reusable bags make everything easy. Choose bags made from vegan materials (that means no leather or silk), and it’s the perfect inclusion in your favorite vegan’s stocking. You’ll never have to worry about using a plastic bag again, and you’ll be able to go hands-free whenever you’d like.

Plus, they’re almost always made of washable cloth like canvas, so you can just toss them in the wash when you get home and they’ll be ready to go the next time you head out the door.

Reusable Straws

Not every vegan makes the switch because of their impact on the environment, but many of them do! If you’re stuffing a stocking for a true nature-lover, consider adding a reusable straw and carrying case to the mix.

Many of them fold up or attach to keychains, so your recipient can carry their straw anywhere they go and enjoy a beverage whenever the mood strikes.

Chocolate, Of Course

Chocolate is a hallmark of the Christmas experience. For some, it might even be the hardest thing to give up when choosing to go vegan.

But what if we told you there was a way to integrate chocolate into your diet without negatively impacting your nutrition? It sounds somewhat far-fetched; too good to be true, even. But thankfully, it is not. There is finally chocolate that uses high quality, natural ingredients and is vegan friendly.

It’s everything you love about chocolate, and what’s more, it completely fits into your diet plan. If that’s not something for humanity to rejoice about, we don’t know what is. Oh, and did we mention that it also fits in a stocking? Add our Perfectly Pleasant Peanut Butter Chocolate Bar to a stocking or thrill your loved ones with a Deviously Delicious White Chocolate Bar With Crispy Almond Pieces.

It’s Not Too Late to Stuff the Perfect Stocking

Unless you are currently staring into the disappointed faces of your family on Christmas morning as you read this, it’s not too late! You can still get out there and get creative with your vegan-friendly stocking stuffers this year.

Whether your giftee is vegan or not, it’s hard to pass up delectable chocolate or a heartfelt letter. Our hope is that, at the very least, we were able to set you down the right path to finding unique and creative items to fill your stockings with this year.

Now, there’s no time to lose! We all know how quickly the months fly, and then before you know it, everything is all jingle bells and mistletoe and “oh no, the last of the *insert the one thing your kid wanted here* are sold out.”

Thank goodness you are now equipped with the knowledge you need to get out there and stuff those stockings like there is no tomorrow. We wish you the best of luck, even though we know you won't need it. You've got this.
