Our next vegan chef comes to us from the UK. If you haven’t heard of him yet, Gaz Oakly is someone all good foodies need to have on their radar. Some might even coin Gaz as a pioneer of vegan food. A professional chef who has produced some of the most inventive and easy vegan recipes out there using ingredients such as liquid smoke and seaweed.

If a professional athlete is making vegan recipes work, we can too!

More and more athletes are turning to a vegan diet and this book is for our athletic readers! (And potential athletes). A big taboo around plant-based recipes is that they don’t provide sufficient volume, nutrition, and protein for recovering athletes. "Vegetable Kingdom" - by Bryant Terry

vegetable plant-based cooking

Our last and probably favorite cookbook comes from chef and sustainability activist Bryant Terry. He has released 6 cookbooks and is a former Ph.D. student who holds an M.A. in History with an emphasis on the African Diaspora from NYU. Bryant is refreshing to follow because his cooking is inspired by good health and well-being for both children and adults.

His cookbook “Vegetable Kingdom” is a personal favorite and went on to win the NAACP Image Award (Outstanding Literary Work) and being named one of the best healthy plant-based cookbooks of the year by huge companies including The New Yorker, The Washington Post, Vogue, Forbes, Epicurious, and others.  It centers around cooking only with vegetables and finding fun and creative ways to make them taste mouth wateringly good.

The book is organized by ingredient, making it easy to create simple dishes with fresh ingredients from your local food market.
